One in ten Year 13s at LAE receive Oxbridge offers

A record-breaking 22 pupils from the London Academy of Excellence, Stratford (LAE) have received offers to study at Oxford or Cambridge colleges this year, beating the school’s record number of offer-holders for the third year running.

Students waited with bated breath as the offers rolled in one by one throughout the week, with each offer being met with excitement, relief and congratulations.

Following on from the school’s recent ‘Outstanding’ grading by Ofsted in November, the news from Oxbridge marks another success story for the high-flying academy and was featured in The Sunday Times, Evening Standard and Newham Recorder, as well as The Sun and Daily Mail. The number of offers equates to a remarkable one in ten of Year 13 students.

Headmaster Scott Baker said “I would like to commend all of this year’s LAE Oxbridge applicants and those applying for competitive medicine, dentistry, and veterinary medicine courses, for their determination and dedication to their studies. LAE’s students have once again shown that with hard work, the aspiration to succeed, excellent teaching and the right support and guidance, there really are no limits on what young people can achieve, irrespective of their gender, ethnicity or background.”

The school attributes its success in supporting students into leading universities to the incredible amount of hard work put in by the students, its outstanding teachers, and its unique relationships with several independent partner schools.
